The pharmacy began as a passion project for its founding chemist, who dedicated his life to creating balms tailored to address the community's needs. By skillfully blending British pharmacology with Cape Dutch techniques and indigenous herbal practices, he crafted effective formulas that resonated with his customers.

More than 70 years later, these balms remain free from industrialization. Every jar is still handmade using traditional methods, with each batch processed using a mortar and pestle. This careful approach ensures that each balm maintains the integrity of its original formula, offering both quality and affection in every product.
